Widely expected to at least compete in an AFC South team with only one true contender, the Jaguars have lost nine of their 11 games so far, had their coach's future been called into question since October, and have been without their $275 million franchise quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, since November 3rd, when he suffered an AC joint injury.

The Jaguars have possessed the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft for a couple of weeks now. Six games stand between Jacksonville and finishing the season atop the order, and it faces competition for the pick.

The 2024 season has not gone how the Jacksonville Jaguars had hoped. The defense is among the worst in the league, and even before the Jaguars lost quarterback Trevor Lawrence to a shoulder injury, the offense was among the lowest-scoring in the league.
